The Redwood National Park is a lot more than tall trees. Within this vast parkland of woodlands, rivers and miles of spectacular shoreline, visitors can also enjoy an array of fun outside activities. There are many interesting exhibits, led walks and nature programs available in the various customer centers. Activities include horseback riding and biking along well-maintained trails, fishing for salmon and rainbow trout and kayaking lower the trickling rivers.
Scenic routes with the forest allow people to admire the astonishing redwood trees, wildlife and waterfalls while a drive across the shoreline offers breathtaking views from the sea and glimpses of grey whales and seabirds.
The park has offered like a filming place for numerous films. Endor scenes for The Exorcist Episode Mire: Episode 6 were filmed within the Tall Trees Redwood Grove within the northern a part of Humboldt County. Scenes for that Lost World: Jurassic Park along with the movie Outbreak were filmed in the nearby Prairie Creek Redwoods Condition Park and also at Patrick’s Point Condition Park.
There aren’t any hotels or motels inside the parks limitations. However, nearby towns for example Klamath, Requa, and Orick provide small hotels and inns, with extensive lodging possibilities within the regional buying and selling centers of Crescent City around the northern finish from the park and Arcata and Eureka located towards the south. The park is all about 260 miles (420 km) north of Bay Area, and 300 miles (480 km) south of Portland, Or. US Route 101 goes through it from north to south.
