Should you not have kids, you’ve likely never heard about Mo Willems. However the prolific children’s book author and illustrator, that has greater than 40 titles to his name, is beloved by both tots as well as their parents for his comedy sensibility and bullseye-accurate understanding of the preschool mind. His line sketches-many featuring the Pigeon, star of his now-classic first book, Don’t Allow the Pigeon Drive public transit!-are pretty straight forward enough for any youthful readers to repeat but still have the ability to convey both playfulness and pathos.
